How it works

What is HomeCopilot?
HomeCopilot is an AI planner for home projects. You describe what you want — or upload a photo — and it hands you a clear scope, a realistic cost range, and a preparation checklist, then connects you with a verified local pro to do the work.
How long does planning take?
About two minutes. The AI asks only the most useful questions, and you can skip anything or come back later — your plan is saved.
Do I have to talk to a salesperson?
No. You get a plan first, with no obligation. You choose if and when to book a consultation with a matched pro.

Costs & estimates

How accurate are the cost ranges?
Ranges are planning bands, not quotes. They reflect typical Ontario costs for the scope you describe. A verified pro confirms the real price after seeing your space — concealed conditions can change scope and cost.
Is it really free?
Planning with the AI is free and there’s no obligation. You only pay a contractor if you choose to hire one for the work.

Areas, permits & timelines

What areas do you serve?
We’re rolling across Ontario, starting in Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area. You can plan a project from anywhere in Ontario; matching depends on verified pros covering your city, which we’re expanding continuously.
Will my project need a permit?
Many structural, electrical, plumbing, and addition projects do. HomeCopilot flags likely permit relevance in your plan, but your municipality and contractor confirm what’s required — we never give a legal or code determination.
How long will the work take?
Your plan includes a broad timeline band for the scope. Real schedules depend on materials, permits, and the contractor’s calendar, confirmed at your consultation.

Pros & your data

Are the contractors vetted?
Yes. We match only verified pros — licensed and insured, with real project proof. Verification status is tracked and renewed, not a one-time badge.
What happens to my information?
Your project brief stays with you. We don’t sell it to a pile of contractors — you decide who receives it, and consent is explicit and specific to each channel. See our Privacy page for details.

More

Do you serve my area?
We serve Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area, including Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering, and Toronto.
Is the estimate a quote?
No. Ranges are planning estimates. A firm quote comes after a contractor reviews your space, since concealed conditions can change scope and price.
Do I need a permit?
Structural, plumbing, and electrical changes often require permits. We flag when a permit is likely and handle the process where applicable.
How long does a renovation take?
A typical bathroom runs 2–4 weeks; kitchens and basements longer. Your plan includes a realistic timeline band.
